Import races from CSV

Loading your own selections from a CSV file: the format, the import steps, per-race odds and rank columns, and using rules like 2nd Fav or Price Range inside the file.

If you keep your selections in a spreadsheet, the Import races page gets them into the bot in one go. Click Import from CSV on the Races page to open it.

The file

A CSV with values separated by commas or semicolons. The simplest file has two columns: the race (time and Betfair meeting abbreviation) and the selection.

16:15 Bev, Gang Warfare
17:30 Brig, Asknotwhat
19:30 Newt, Dubai Prince

Use Betfair's meeting abbreviations (Bev, Brig, Newt), not full course names, or the bot can't match the race.

The import steps

  1. Click Select CSV file… and choose the file. The bot shows its rows in a table along with a few controls.
  2. Adjust race times by (Hrs): the bot works in UK time. If your file's times are in another time zone, correct them here; times an hour ahead need −1.
  3. Start from row: if the file has a header row or notes at the top, tell the bot which row the races start on.
  4. Import Win, Place markets: choose whether to load the win market, the place market or both for each race.
  5. Click Preview import results. The bot turns each row into a Betfair market and selection. Anything it can't match shows an error in the Notes column.
  6. Click Add races to load them into the system.

Odds, runners and rank per race

Extra columns in the file can set a race's Min odds, Max odds, Min runners, Max runners or Rank. Add the values to the file, then in the preview right-click the column header you want to map (say Max odds) and pick the file column that holds it; NOT SET clears a mapping. The values are applied as individual conditions on each race when it's loaded.

16:15 Bev, Gang Warfare, 7, 14
17:30 Brig, Asknotwhat, 7, 14
19:30 Newt, Dubai Prince, 10, 15

Rules instead of names

The selection column doesn't have to be a horse. Any of the bot's selection rules can go there instead: 2nd Fav for the second favourite, Price Range(2.50:5.0) for runners between those prices, RacingPost Forecast or Last Winning Trap for the advanced selections.

16:15 Bev, Price Range(2.50:5.0)
17:30 Brig, RacingPost Forecast
19:30 Newt, RacingPost Forecast

The system's staking plan, odds limits and conditions all still apply to imported races. If you want a different stake on each imported selection, use Manual stakes after importing.
