A BF Bot Manager Alternative That Runs in the Cloud
xCloudBot vs BF Bot Manager: what each does well, what each costs, and which suits the way you bet.
BF Bot Manager is one of the best-known Betfair bots, and for good reason. It's flexible, it covers lots of sports, and it's one of the most popular tools in Betfair's app directory. The main thing people look for an alternative over is where it runs.
The key difference: Windows vs cloud
BF Bot Manager's own site says the product requires Windows, and suggests running it on a VPS if you don't have Windows. Either way, it places bets while that machine is on.
xCloudBot runs on our servers. You set it up in a web browser on any device, Mac and phone included, and it places bets 24/7 whether your computer is on or not. There's no VPS to rent.

Where BF Bot Manager is the better choice
- You bet on sports other than horse racing and greyhounds.
- You already have a Windows PC or VPS running all day, and you're happy maintaining it.
- On a long licence it's cheaper per month: about £12.50 a month plus VAT on the 12-month plan.
Where xCloudBot is the better choice
- You don't want a computer left on, or a VPS bill, just to get bets placed.
- You're on a Mac, or want to check and pause things from your phone.
- You bet on racing and want your selections, or a built-in system, placed every day with as little setup as possible.
Count the hosting when you compare prices. If you'd need a VPS to run BF Bot Manager unattended, that's an extra monthly cost on top of the licence. Here's what VPS hosting typically costs.
