Betfair Bot Comparison: Prices, Platforms and Trials
The main Betfair bots and betting tools side by side, with prices taken from each provider's own website.
There's no single best Betfair bot. It depends on whether you want to trade a ladder yourself, build detailed rules, or just get selections placed every day without a PC left on. This page sets out the facts so you can pick.
We make xCloudBot, so we're not neutral. We've stuck to what each provider says on its own website, linked every source, and said where the others are the better choice.

Running it 24/7
This is the biggest practical difference. Desktop tools only place bets while the computer they're on is running. BF Bot Manager says it needs Windows and suggests a VPS otherwise. Bet Angel sells its own VPS, from £24.99 to £69.99 a month on top of the licence, so the software can run with your PC off.
xCloudBot and Hedger Pro both run in the cloud, so there's no PC or VPS to keep going. More on bots without a VPS.
Each tool in a sentence or two
xCloudBot
A cloud bot for horse racing and greyhounds. It copies tipsters’ selections automatically, takes your own picks by CSV, or runs built-in systems, with back and lay bets and win bets at BSP. Bets can also be chosen by rule (favourites, odds ranges, steamers and drifters), with 48 staking plans and a simulation mode. It covers fewer sports than the desktop tools, and it isn't a trading ladder.
BF Bot Manager
A long-established Windows bot with rule-based strategies across sports, and one of the most popular tools in Betfair's app directory. It covers more sports than xCloudBot, but it needs Windows running. xCloudBot vs BF Bot Manager.
Bet Angel Professional
The best-known Betfair trading software, with ladders, Excel links and its Guardian automation with hundreds of templates. It's built for traders, and it runs on your computer or a VPS. xCloudBot vs Bet Angel.
Gruss Betting Assistant
Very cheap at £6 a month, with a 30-day trial. Its own site pitches a ladder, one-click betting and live scores, so it's aimed at people betting and trading by hand. xCloudBot vs Gruss.
Hedger Pro
The closest to xCloudBot: cloud-based and almost the same monthly price. It's horse racing only and built around its own research and systems tools. xCloudBot also covers greyhounds, and lets you upload your own selections as a CSV.
So which should you choose?
- You trade in-play or scalp from a ladder: Bet Angel or Gruss.
- You want detailed rules across lots of sports and don't mind Windows: BF Bot Manager or Bet Angel.
- You want racing selections placed every day with no PC or VPS: xCloudBot or Hedger Pro. Choose xCloudBot if you want greyhounds as well as horses.
