Lay staking plan
(Lay) Dalembert
Up one point after a losing lay, down one after a winning one, with a cap on the multiplier.
The lay version of D'Alembert. When a lay loses (the runner wins) the next stake goes up one point; when a lay wins it comes down one point.
Parameters
- Stake: one point, the base stake.
- Limit: the most points the plan will stake.
- Multiplier: the current number of points (read-only).
Remember the figure is a stake, not a liability: 4 points at 4.10 is a liability of 4 × 10 × 3.10 = £124 on a £10 base. A maximum odds setting matters more with this plan than with most.
Example
| Multiplier | Bet | Runner | P/L |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 10 @ 3.40 | Won | −24 |
| 2 | 20 @ 2.90 | Won | −38 |
| 3 | 30 @ 4.10 | Won | −93 |
| 4 | 40 @ 3.20 | Lost | +40 |
| 3 | 30 @ 2.50 | Lost | +30 |
