Lay staking plan
(Lay) Maria
The Maria laying plan: a percentage of the bank that depends on the odds band, recalculated as the bank grows and cut back after a 35% drawdown.
Maria lays a percentage of the bank chosen by the odds band the runner falls in. The default bands are the ones the original Maria system used.
The bands
You can set three odds ranges and a percentage for each in the Odds and Percentage columns. The defaults:
- Odds up to 3.50: lay 1% of the bank.
- Odds 3.60 to 7.40: lay 0.6% of the bank.
- Odds 7.50 to 11.0: lay 0.4% of the bank.
- Above 11.0: no bet.
How the bank is used
- Stakes are recalculated each day from the bank, and only upwards: if the bank has grown, stakes grow with it. If it has shrunk below the bank the stakes were last worked out from, the stakes stay where they are. The bank in use is shown in Base Bank.
- Fixed Bank: tick it and stakes aren't increased as the bank grows.
- Decrease Stake After: if the bank falls this far below its highest point (35% by default), stakes are recalculated from what's left.
