(Lay) Progressive
Each winning lay aims for a target profit plus every loss since the last win, with a reset limit and a liability cap.
The lay version of Progressive. After a laid runner wins, the next stake is set to win back that loss plus the target profit. Stakes, and especially liabilities, climb quickly through a losing run, so keep the target around 1% of the bank and use both limits.
Parameters
- Target Profit: what each winning lay should make on top of recovering losses. Commission is allowed for.
- Reset Limit: the most consecutive losses the plan will chase. Beyond it, losses are written off and the cycle restarts.
- Max Bet Liability: a ceiling on any single lay's liability. The stake is cut to fit it even if there's more to recover.
- Loss Number: the current run of losses (read-only). A winning lay clears it.
Example
| Target | Loss to recover | Bet | Runner | P/L |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 0 | 10 @ 3.00 | Won | −20 |
| 10 | 20 | 30 @ 2.20 | Won | −36 |
| 10 | 56 | 66 @ 2.00 | Won | −66 |
| 10 | 122 | 132 @ 2.50 | Won | −198 |
| 10 | 320 | 330 @ 1.80 | Lost | +330 |
| 10 | 0 | 10 @ 2.00 | Lost | +10 |
| 10 | 0 | 10 @ 2.25 | Won | −12.5 |
Four laid runners winning in a row took the running loss from nothing to 320, and the fifth lay needed 330 of stake to get it back. That's the shape of every progressive lay plan.
This plan raises stakes after losses. Enable Consequential betting on the Settings page, use one selection per race, set a Stop at loss, and read why loss-recovery plans empty banks before running it with real money.
