Test staking plan
Running a staking plan over a series of random bets, or over the system's own past bets, to see what it would have done to the bank.
Click Test on the Staking plan page and you can run any plan over a sequence of bets without placing one. The plan's parameters are on the left; the test settings are on the right. There are two ways to generate the bets.
Random bets
- Number of races: how many races to generate, up to 100.
- Bets per race: up to 3. The total is races × bets per race. More than one bet per race only makes sense for dutching plans; everything else tests fine with one.
- Min/Max odds: every generated bet falls in this range.
- Winning chance depends on odds: each bet's chance of winning is 1 ÷ odds. At 2.50 that's 40%.
- Use strike rate: every bet gets the same chance of winning, the strike rate you enter, whatever its odds.
System bets
The bot takes real bets the system has placed and settled (cancelled bets are left out) and recalculates the stakes with the plan you're testing. It's a way of back-testing a plan on your own history.
- Bets starting from: the date to take the first bet from. If there were no bets that day the bot moves forward until it finds some, and it keeps going forward until it has enough.
- Number of bets: how many to use, up to 300.
Start bank is the bank the test begins with. Run test runs it and shows the results.
Reading the results
- Race: the race number, or the race name when using system bets.
- A column for the plan's changing parameter, such as Multiplier for Back Up-Down. Other plans show other columns.
- Bank: the bank before the bet.
- Stake, Odds, Result: the bet and whether it won or lost.
- P/L: profit or loss on the bet. With one bet per race it's shown after 5% commission; with more than one bet per race it's shown before commission, because commission is charged on the race's net profit, not per bet. The bank is always updated using the race's result with commission taken off.
Under the table, Bets statistics gives the minimum, maximum and average stake and bet across the run, plus the longest winning run, the longest losing run, the ROI (net profit divided by total stakes) and the strike rate.
