System settings
Every option on the Settings page: bet timing, consequential betting, daily reloads and resets, BSP, in-play, small stakes, the stop triggers, and the selection and price-source options.
The Settings page holds the options that shape how a system bets. They're in three groups: betting options, stop triggers, and selection and price options. Click Save changes after any change.
Betting options
- Betting time: how many seconds before the scheduled off the bot starts firing. The default is 60. Give it at least 15 seconds; less and the bot may not have time to handle the bet. A negative value (−1) means bet only in-play, so markets that don't go in-play get no bet, and Allow betting in-play must be on.
- Consequential betting: the next race's bets only fire once the previous race has settled. Needed for any staking plan whose next stake depends on the last result.
- Apply fast results: with Consequential betting on, if the next bet is due and the last race hasn't settled, use an early result based on the final in-play prices. Only works on markets that go in-play, such as UK racing, and it's a lot less reliable than the official result, so treat it as a testing option.
- Reload markets at: load new markets and selections every day at this time (UK), using whatever's set on the Load races form. This is what makes a filter-based system run itself.
- Reset staking daily at: put the staking plan back to its starting values every day at this time, for example to drop yesterday's losses and start the plan fresh.
- Autostart betting at: activate betting every day at this time, so a system stopped by a trigger yesterday starts again on its own.
- Place bets at BSP: bet at Betfair SP. On markets without BSP the bet goes on at live odds instead. See BSP betting.
- Allow betting in-play: if the bet hasn't fired before the off because conditions weren't met, keep trying in-play.
- Check bets only once: check conditions once, at Betting time, and cancel the bet if they aren't met. Off, the bot keeps checking until they are met or the race is off.
- Allow small stakes: place stakes under Betfair's £2 minimum. Doesn't apply to BSP bets. Small stakes take noticeably longer to place, especially in-play, so turn this off for in-play betting with real money. Betfair also takes a dim view of accounts that only ever place small stakes.
Stop triggers
- Stop at won races #: stop after this many races won.
- Stop at lost races #: stop after this many races lost.
- Consequent losses: with this on, the lost-races stop only fires after that many losing races in a row.
- Stop at profit, Stop at loss: stop when the running profit or loss for the current betting cycle reaches the figure. These check the Running profit shown in the system summary, which resets whenever betting is started. The bot tries not to overshoot the stop loss: with a £100 stop loss, £95 already lost and a next bet with £10 of liability, the stake is cut to £5 of liability so a loss can't take you past £100.
- Restart staking plan after stop: instead of stopping, reset the staking plan's running values and the stop counters (races won and lost, running profit) and carry on.
A race counts as won if the total profit from all bets in it is positive.
Selection and price options
- All selections must exist: every selection in the race must be available and pass the conditions, or none of them are bet. Three runners selected, odds range 2.00 to 5.00, one of them at 6.0: no bets at all. Off, the bot bets the ones that qualify. This must be on for dutching plans, or a missing bet wrecks the dutch.
- Price range selection method: for the Price Range selection: bet all runners in the range, only the lowest-priced, or only the highest-priced.
- Prices to use (prices source): which price is checked against your conditions: live Betfair odds, Betfair SP, or on-course odds from Sporting Life. This is not the price the bet is placed at; see Key features explained, points 5 and 8.
- If selected price type is not available for the market: some races have no BSP or aren't on Sporting Life. Choose Cancel bet or Use Betfair live odds instead.
- Void simulation bet if no results after: in simulation, how long after the off to wait for a result before voiding the bet. 5 to 180 minutes; give it at least 20 or bets get voided before results arrive.
