Known issues

Five things that look like bugs and aren't: Betfair rules and in-play realities that affect every bot, including this one.

None of these are faults in xCloudBot. They're Betfair rules and the nature of in-play markets, and you'll hit them with any software. Knowing them in advance saves a support email.

1. Laying at SP needs £10 of liability

Betfair won't accept a lay bet at SP with a liability under £10. Liability is stake × (odds − 1), so a £2 lay at 4.5 is £2 × 3.5 = £7 and would be rejected. Either raise the stake or don't use SP for small lays. See BSP betting.

2. Min/max odds aren't guaranteed in-play

Two things are true of in-play markets on Betfair: prices move a lot in a very short time, and there's a one-second delay between a bet being submitted and it being matched. Together they mean a bet can match outside your odds limits. The bot checks the price, sees it inside your range, fires, and in the second before the bet is matched the price has jumped or collapsed. Treat that as part of the cost of betting in-play.

3. Small bets in-play

A bet under the £2 minimum takes more operations, and therefore more time, to place than a normal one. Pre-off that doesn't matter. In-play, combined with point 2, the extra time means the bet is more likely to go unmatched or to match at a worse price. If you bet in-play, use normal stakes above the Betfair minimum.

4. Minimum potential profit

Betfair requires every bet to have at least 2p of potential profit. A small stake at a very short price can fall under that: 10p at 1.10 would only win 1p, and Betfair rejects it with an INVALID_PROFIT_RATIO error. Use a bigger stake or a bigger price (10p at 1.20, or 20p at 1.10, both pass).

5. When only some selections in a race qualify

With more than one selection in a race, some may meet your conditions and others not. With Max odds at 5.0 and selections at 3.5 and 6.0, the bot fires on the 3.5 shot, the other is no bet, and the bot stops checking it once the first bet is placed. If both are above your max, it keeps checking until one or both come into range.

Two ways to change that behaviour. If bets should only go on when every selection qualifies, enable All runners must exist on the Settings page. If you want each selection checked and placed independently of the others, load each selection as its own race: two copies of the same race in the system, each with one selection.

If you've hit something that isn't on this page, email help@punthub.co.uk with the system name, the race and the time, and we'll look at the bot's log for that bet.
