Getting started

From logging in to your first bet firing, in twelve steps. Do it in simulation mode first.

This is the shortest route from a new account to a running system. Everything here uses the default settings; the Bot reference explains each page and option in full once you want to change them.

Connect your Betfair account

Go to my.xcloudbot.co.uk and log in with the email address and password from your welcome email.
Click Betfair in the top menu.
Enter your Betfair username and password and click Login to Betfair. The status line at the top of every page then shows that you're signed in and your available Betfair funds. The bot only ever bets through your own Betfair account; your money stays there.

Set up a system

Click one of your systems in the top menu (System1, System2 or System3). Each is independent: its own selections, staking plan, conditions and settings.
At the bottom of the System page, enter your Bank and choose a Betting mode. Pick Simulation while you're learning; the bot records paper bets and nothing goes to Betfair. Click Save changes.
Click Races, then Load races.
The Load races form lets you filter markets and choose how selections are picked. Leave the defaults for now and the bot loads today's UK win markets with the 1st favourite as the selection. Click Load selected races to add them to the system. (If you're following a tipster or one of the included systems, you'll use the Tipsters page instead; see Included systems and tipster copying.)
Back on the Races page, click Staking Plan. Choose a plan, set your stake, and click Save changes. Level Stakes with a small stake is the sensible first choice.
The remaining pages, Conditions, Extra Features, Tipsters and Settings, can stay on their defaults for a first run.

Switch it on

Click Activate Betting at the top of the System page. The button changes to Stop Betting and the Status shows Running. The system is now live and will fire bets when its conditions are met.
To stop, click Stop Betting. No bets are placed until you activate it again. Bear in mind that stopping and starting resets the system's betting cycle, which matters for stop-at-profit and stop-at-loss; see Key features explained.
Watch bets as they go on from the System page or the Main page. If a bet wasn't placed, the Info column shows an icon; click it for the reason.
