Introduction to xCloudBot

What the bot is, what it can and can't do, and the five steps every system goes through before it places a bet.

xCloudBot is web-based betting software for the Betfair Exchange. Its job is to place bets on your behalf, 24 hours a day, from our servers. You set a system up once in your browser and the bot does the placing.

At a glance

  • What you need: a PC, Mac, tablet or phone with a web browser and an internet connection, a Betfair Exchange account with funds in it, and an xCloudBot subscription.
  • Markets: horse racing win and place markets in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the US and France, and greyhound win and place markets in the UK and Australia.
  • Where it runs: on our servers. Your computer can be off.

What the bot can do

  • Place back and lay bets on your Betfair account.
  • Work out stakes using any of its 48 staking plans.
  • Stop betting at a profit or a loss you set.
  • Check betting conditions (odds range, number of runners, matched money, market rank and more) before it fires a bet.
  • Load selections for you: by market filter (1st favourite, named runners, odds ranges), from a CSV you upload, or from a tipster or system you follow.
  • Run in simulation mode so you can watch a system on paper before any money goes on.

What the bot can't do

  • Invent a winning strategy for you.
  • Find horses that win.
  • Predict which way a price will move.
  • Trade, hedge or cancel bets once they're placed.

The bot is a tool that saves you time and effort. It isn't a money-making machine on its own. You need selections or a strategy you have reason to trust, whether that's your own, a tipster's, or one of the systems included with your plan.

How a system is set up

You can treat xCloudBot as set-and-forget, or enter selections every day and let the bot handle stakes and placement. Either way, setting a system up follows the same five steps.

  1. Enter your bank and choose a betting mode: simulation or real money.
  2. Choose and set up a staking plan.
  3. Set your betting conditions and other options: stop at profit or loss, whether to bet at Betfair SP, and how long before the off to place the bet.
  4. Load selections. Filter the markets you want, import a CSV, or load them from a tipster or an included system.
  5. Click Activate Betting.

If you choose selections yourself each day, only step 4 needs repeating. If your strategy is built on a rule the bot can apply itself, such as backing or laying the first favourite, or you're following a tipster with auto download switched on, you do the five steps once and the bot reloads each day's selections on its own.
